David and Dareus were my pickup agent. They was expert on making sure nothing was damaged and everything neatly packed and secured. Don’t mind hiring these two again

David & Sadarius were amazing! Great movers! Recommend them!

Sumana Sundaresan 1785612254

Vincent, Michael S and Lewa were awesome. They were meticulous and took care to ensure they wrapped all furniture. Safeguarded the glass with additional packing. (I had already packed stuff in boxes so can’t specify details there). They lined the floors and door edges and ensured nothing scrapped the wall edges/lights etc. they also waited patiently while I vacuumed before loading the vacuum cleaner as requested by me. They were polite , courteous and dedicated. I will definitely recommend... them. The only thing I didn’t anticipate is the time they took to complete- I anticipated 2 -3 hours but they worked solid5 hours. But the quality spoke for the extra time. So do keep the day free - this is not hurry and complete kind of job … more a careful- meticulous dealing.read more

Rainy Season Long Distance Moves: How Seattle Moving Companies Protect Your Belongings

Seattle, WA is well known for its rainy season. Between October and April, there is more precipitation than in many other cities in the United States. Given these weather conditions, Seattle movers need to know how to protect customers’ belongings from rain.

The biggest risk isn’t the rain itself; it’s what happens during loading. Every time a box or piece of furniture is moved from your home to the truck, it’s briefly exposed to rain. Experienced movers reduce this risk by using covered loading ramps, tarps over open truck doors, and plastic wrapping on upholstered furniture and mattresses before they ever leave the house.

Cardboard boxes are very vulnerable to precipitation. Wet cardboard makes boxes flimsy quickly, which can cause them to collapse or tear during a long drive. Plastic bins or moisture-resistant packing materials are highly recommended for anything valuable or hard to replace, especially for a long-distance move.

The load-in process is a pivotal part of keeping your belongings dry from the Seattle rain. The goal for movers is to minimize the time boxes and furniture are exposed to the elements. Seattle moving companies will perform a short walk-through before moving day, while checking driveway access, covered entry points, and how far the truck will need to be parked from the door. All these factors keep your items more protected from the weather.

Timing is another important factor to consider when it’s raining. Morning loading, when rain in the Pacific Northwest is often lighter, can make a noticeable difference compared to loading during an afternoon system. If your move date has any flexibility, checking the forecast a few days out can help you pick a lower-risk window.

Rainy season doesn’t have to complicate a long-distance move out of Seattle. A&E Relocation Services has helped Seattle-area families and businesses navigate long-distance moves through every season, using proper equipment and careful planning to keep belongings safe rain or shine. As a Mayflower Transit agent, A&E combines local Pacific Northwest experience with the resources of a nationwide moving network, so your rainy-season move gets the same careful handling from the first box loaded to the last one delivered.

Long-Distance Moving Services in Seattle FAQ

Long-distance movers specialize in helping individuals and families relocate across state lines or even across the country.

A&E Location Services, headquartered in Lacey, Washington, offers comprehensive long-distance moving services to all 50 states. Their primary service area encompasses Seattle, Washington, as well as nearby cities such as Seattle and Olympia.

Through our partnership with Mayflower Transit, we extend our reach to interstate and international moves, ensuring clients receive consistent, reliable service regardless of distance. Whether you are relocating within Washington State, across the country, or internationally, A&E Relocation Services is equipped to handle your move with professionalism and care. The team is trained to manage the complexities of long-distance relocations, providing services such as packing, loading, transportation, and storage solutions tailored to your needs.

“From right here in Olympia, we proudly serve families and businesses moving across Washington and throughout the entire United States. If you’re heading to a neighboring state or relocating cross-country, our team is committed to delivering dependable, door-to-door service wherever the road takes you,” Office Manager Kira McIntyre says.

The movers should provide accurate estimates, transparent pricing, and support throughout the relocation process. Reliability also means being licensed, insured and prepared with the proper equipment and trained staff for long hauls.

A&E Relocation Services delivers all of this and more. With a strong reputation in Olympia, Washington, and beyond, A&E ensures that every move, whether across county lines or state borders, is handled with professionalism and care. Their experienced team and dedication to stress-free service make it a trusted process for long-distance moving.

According to Moving.com, “The average cost of a local move is $1,250; a long-distance move is $4,890 (distance of 1,000 miles). These estimates are based on a two- to three-bedroom move of approximately 7,500 pounds.”

“At A&E, we believe in providing transparent and competitive pricing for every move. We work closely with our customers to create customized moving plans that fit their needs and budget, so there are no surprises, just reliable service start to finish,” Office Manager, Kira McIntyre, promises.

Packing services and materials are available with every long-distance move, but they’re tailored to your specific needs rather than automatically included in the base cost. You can choose from full-service packing, where our trained crew handles everything from delicate items to large furniture, or partial packing if you only need help with certain rooms or fragile belongings.

If you prefer to pack on your own, A&E Relocation Services also offers a range of quality moving supplies, including boxes, tape, wrapping paper, and specialty cartons. We can assist with unpacking once you arrive at your new home. Your move coordinator will walk you through all available packing options during your estimate, helping you decide which level of support best fits your budget.

A&E’s Office Manager, Kira McIntyre, explains, “At A&E Relocation Services, we know that a successful long-distance move starts with the right preparation. That’s why we offer high-quality packaging materials and full-service packing options as part of our long-distance moving packages- so our clients can feel confident their belongings are protected every mile of the way.”

Timing depends on factors such as the move, distance, load size and route logistics. Most long-distance moves take anywhere from two days to a week, depending on how far you’re going and what services are included. Good movers will provide a delivery window and keep you informed throughout the process.

A&E Relocation Services works efficiently to meet delivery timelines while ensuring safe transport. Their team keeps you informed at every stage of the move, offering realistic delivery estimates and timely communication. With A&E, you can always know where your belongings are and when they’ll arrive.

Office Manager, Kira McIntyre, assures, “Understanding that a long-distance move is more than just transporting belongings—  it’s about transitioning into a new chapter of life. From the initial consultation to the final delivery, our team is committed to providing a seamless and stress-free experience every step of the way.”

Yes, under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) guidelines, interstate movers are required to offer two types of liability coverage.

Released Value Protection: This is the most economical option, offered at no additional charge. However, it provides minimal protection, covering your belongings at 60 cents per pound per item.

Full Value Protection: This comprehensive plan holds the mover liable for the replacement value of lost or damaged goods in your entire shipment. Unless you select the Released Value option, your shipment will automatically be transported under Full Value Protection.

Additionally, “[License and insurance] is non-negotiable. For interstate moves, your movers must have a USDOT number, which is a license issued by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. For in-state moves, regulations vary, so check your state’s requirements,” Forbes.com adds.

“Protecting our customers’ belongings is our top priority. From high-quality packing materials to careful handling and secure loading, every step of our process is designed to ensure our items arrive safely, no matter the distance,” Kira McIntyre, Office Manager, mentions.
